Busan Port Authority Joins "Children are Happy, Youth Have Hope, Seniors Find Fulfillment" Campaign
Relay Campaign to Raise Awareness of Population Issues
Busan Port Authority (BPA), led by President Song Sangkeun, participated in a government campaign aimed at raising public awareness of population decline and aging issues.
The "Relay Campaign to Raise Awareness about Population Issues" is jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Human Resources Development Institute for Health and Welfare. The campaign's slogan is "We work together to make Korea a country where children are happy, youth can nurture hope, and seniors find fulfillment." Central government ministries, local governments, and public institutions are participating in the campaign in a relay format.
BPA joined the campaign after receiving the baton from the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation and Ulsan Port Authority, and designated the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology and the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation as the next participating organizations.
BPA operates customized support programs covering the entire period from pregnancy to childrearing, such as reduced working hours during pregnancy, provision of childcare time, and expanded options for reduced working hours during the childrearing period. The organization is also making efforts to help employees adapt after returning to work and to foster a family-friendly workplace culture.
As a result of these efforts, BPA received the Minister of Health and Welfare's Commendation for Excellence in Population Policy at the 13th Population Day and has been certified as a family-friendly institution for 12 consecutive years.
