Starting this month, the county has been operating a "Family Viewing Room" at the Hampyeong Drive-in Theater, allowing local seniors and marginalized groups to enjoy movies as well. The Family Viewing Room was created to expand movie access for residents without cars, and to provide a space where families, small groups, institutions, and social organizations can enjoy cultural activities together, communicate, and build unity.
There are a total of two viewing areas: the Trackless Train Viewing Room and the remodeled Family Viewing Room, which was formerly a concession stand. Each area can accommodate 4 to 6 people at a time. The admission fee is 30,000 won per session, and each viewing area operates twice a day. The movie schedule can be checked on the Hampyeong Drive-in Theater website. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, either by phone in advance or by purchasing tickets on site on the day of the screening. Online reservations are not available.
A county official stated, "We are operating the Family Viewing Room to expand opportunities for intergenerational communication and cultural enjoyment through movies," and added, "We will continue to improve the service so that even those without cars can comfortably enjoy a variety of content."
