The guide contains exemplary cases of public documents frequently used by educational institutions, such as press releases, newsletters to parents, draft documents, and website posts. It also includes practical guidelines for "Hangul Love Day," which is held on the 9th of every month.
The Chungnam Provincial Office of Education expects that the guide for the correct use of Hangul, which was produced and distributed this time, will greatly contribute to the spread of Hangul culture not only among students but also among teachers and staff by promoting the proper use of Hangul.
In addition, this year, the office plans to continuously expand policies to promote the culture of proper Hangul usage, including: the designation of a person in charge of correct Hangul use; production and distribution of "100 Refined Words" in collaboration with the educational community; publication of the newsletter "Nemo·Donggeurami" on proper Hangul use; student contests and awards for contributors; operation of "Our Language, Our Writing Dream Festival" at each education support office; and encouragement of proper language use in various websites and official documents.
Kim Ji-cheol, Superintendent of Chungnam Office of Education, emphasized, "Accurately understanding and properly using Hangul in public language is not just about improving language habits, but also serves as the foundation for creating a culture of respect and consideration." He added, "I hope that by utilizing the guide for the correct use of Hangul in schools and educational institutions, we can help protect this valuable national heritage."
