The intensive period for preventing industrial accidents in the three major high-risk tasks is operated independently by the Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Gyeongnam East Branch of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. This period aims to reduce industrial accidents in the region by strengthening prevention activities for the three high-risk tasks (forklift, crane, irregular) in response to the trend of serious accidents occurring frequently from May to July.
Industrial accident prevention activities include relay campaigns in industrial complexes, posting banners, voluntary inspections using self-checklists, and intensive patrols in industrial complexes.
In addition, after the intensive period, the Yangsan Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor plans to conduct unannounced special inspections, focusing on workplaces that did not carry out voluntary inspections or those with frequent accidents in the three high-risk tasks.
Kwon Guhyung, Director of the Yangsan Branch, stated, "We will concentrate administrative efforts to ensure that serious accidents never occur again in high-risk tasks such as forklift, crane, and irregular work within the jurisdiction," and urged, "I ask that local business owners and workers remain vigilant regarding the three high-risk tasks and make every effort to prevent similar accidents."
