Solatech and Jungwoo EMC Donate 100 Million KRW for Wildfire Relief

View original imageOn May 15, Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association (Chairman Song Pilho) announced that executives and employees of Solatech, a renewable energy group company (CEO Kang Ilgu), and Jungwoo EMC (CEO Kang Sungtae) had joined forces to donate a total of 100 million KRW to help victims of the recent large-scale wildfires in Ulsan, North Gyeongsang, and South Gyeongsang.
Chairman Kang Sungtae stated, "We decided to make this donation to offer some support to those who have lost their homes," adding, "All of our executives and employees gladly participated in the donation." He continued, "We will continue our ongoing group-wide social contribution activities and fulfill our role as a responsible company that works together with the local community."
CEO Kang Ilgu said, "In line with the public purpose of the energy business, we have practiced love and sharing with our neighbors since the early days of our company," and added, "We will continue to be a warm-hearted company for marginalized regions and neighbors."
Solatech has been steadily carrying out various community contribution activities, such as supporting vulnerable groups, by allocating 2,000 KRW per 1kW from its solar power construction profits and returning about 100 million KRW annually (based on a total of 50,000 kW).
