"Experience Paris in Seoul This Spring"... How About Montmartre Park in Seorae Village?
Seocho-gu in Seoul has renovated Montmartre Park. The district has introduced the "Charming Garden," featuring a variety of trees and flowering plants, and has significantly expanded rest areas for residents by adding more outdoor tables and benches.
Located in Seorae Village, Montmartre Park is a popular attraction reminiscent of Montmartre Hill in Paris, France, and was included this year in Seoul City's list of "175 Beautiful Spring Flower Paths in Seoul." Starting from Arbor Day, the district planted 2,560 trees, including crape myrtles, cornelian cherries, and hydrangeas, as well as 2,200 flowering plants, creating a garden where visitors can experience healing in nature.
Reflecting residents' feedback, the district expanded rest areas around the central lawn by adding outdoor tables, sunbeds, and benches. In particular, the pine tree walking trail has become popular as a barefoot walking spot, so the district added benches under the pine tree shade to allow visitors to enjoy forest bathing and relaxation.
Montmartre Park was first established in 2003 on top of the Banpo Reservoir and was renovated in 2006 to mark the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and France. The park is characterized by its French-style garden design and the cultural and artistic concept inspired by Montmartre Hill in Paris.
