Yangju City Seeks Residents' Opinions on "Growth Management Plan Zone Readjustment"
Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on May 14 that it will be collecting residents' opinions on the "Yangju City Growth Management Plan Zone Readjustment" until June 27.
This public consultation is being conducted to re-examine the validity of the growth management plan established last year and to develop management measures for "non-urbanized areas."
The "Growth Management Plan Zone" was established to prevent disorderly development in areas within non-urbanized regions where haphazard development is anticipated, and to promote efficient and systematic urban management through guided, planned development.
In January 2024, Yangju City designated a "Growth Management Plan Zone" covering 38.42 square kilometers (331 locations) and completed the planning process. Through this readjustment, the city plans to review the criteria for categorizing types based on site characteristics, matters related to infrastructure planning, matters related to building planning, matters related to environmental management and landscape planning, and guidelines for establishing growth management plans.
Residents can participate by visiting the Urban Affairs Division at Yangju City Hall or the administrative welfare centers in their respective towns, townships, or districts, where they can fill out and submit a resident opinion form provided on-site.
