The 2026 Pre-Wando International Seaweed Expo, held under the theme 'Climate Leader, The Future of the Ocean Opened by Seaweed', is scheduled to take place from May 2 to May 7 next year at the Wando Beach Park area. Through this expo, the county aimed to attract participating local governments and companies.
As the largest seaweed production area in Korea, Wando County is accelerating preparations for the expo to highlight the value of seaweed and strengthen industrial competitiveness. During the event, the county held a subscription event for its official SNS channels for visitors to the promotional booth, offering processed seaweed products as gifts, which drew significant interest from attendees.

A county official stated, "We will actively promote the delicious and nutritious seaweed and the unique marine healing effects of Wando, not only to ensure the successful hosting of the expo, but also to contribute to the revitalization of the marine healing industry."
