Gwangsan District in Gwangju Launches Customized Daily Living Training Program for Severely Disabled Individuals
Strengthening Independent Living Skills for Individuals with Brain Lesions and Physical Disabilities
One-on-One Training by Gwangju Women's University Faculty and Volunteers
Program Held at Usan Health Living Support Center Until June
Gwangsan District in Gwangju announced on May 14 that it will operate a "Customized Daily Living Activity Training Program for Severely Disabled Individuals" to support independent living and expand opportunities for social participation.
This program was designed in response to the fact that 63.2% of registered disabled individuals in the Gwangsan District have brain lesions or physical disabilities. The training is conducted as one-on-one customized education to provide practical assistance to severely disabled individuals who face difficulties in daily living independence.

View original imageThe training sessions will be held at Usan Health Living Support Center every Tuesday until June 3, for a total of four sessions. Faculty members from the Department of Physical Therapy at Gwangju Women's University and volunteers will participate to enhance the program's expertise.
The curriculum focuses on practical aspects of daily life, including bed mobility, toilet use and hygiene management, assistive device usage, preparation for outings, family emotion management, and the use of smart devices, aiming to substantially improve the daily living capabilities of severely disabled individuals.
