Nongshim Sells Out Initial 1 Million Units of "Shin Ramyeon Tomba" in Japan
Plans for Additional Supply and Increased Shipments
Bag Noodle Launch Scheduled for the Second Half of the Year
Nongshim announced on May 14 that all 1 million units of the initial batch of "Shin Ramyeon Tomba," launched in Japan, were sold out within just two weeks of its release.
Last month, Nongshim introduced the Shin Ramyeon Tomba cup noodles at Seven-Eleven, Japan's leading convenience store chain. As a hit product from Korea, Shin Ramyeon Tomba attracted significant attention and was stocked at all stores. Immediately after its launch, some locations experienced stockouts due to an unexpectedly strong consumer response, leading to a rapid sellout. Nongshim is currently in discussions with Seven-Eleven Japan to arrange additional supply and increase shipment volumes.
A Nongshim representative stated, "Shin Ramyeon Tomba has received an enthusiastic response in the Japanese ramen market thanks to its distinctive flavor, which is rare in Japan, and its pasta-style noodles and sauce that can be prepared in a microwave."

Buoyed by the popularity of the cup noodles, Nongshim also plans to sequentially launch Shin Ramyeon Tomba in bag noodle form through Japanese distributors. Starting in the third quarter of this year, the product will be available first at imported food specialty stores such as Aeon Caferrante and Kaldi, with a nationwide rollout at retail stores planned for the fourth quarter.
