Hwasun County Council Pays Tribute at National Cemetery to Commemorate May 18 Democratic Movement
Hwasun County Council in South Jeolla Province (Chairman Oh Hyungyeol) announced on the 14th that it had paid tribute at the National 5·18 Democratic Cemetery on the 13th to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the May 18 Democratic Movement.
This tribute was organized to reflect on the significance of the 5·18 Democratic Movement and to honor its noble spirit.

View original imageChairman Oh Hyungyeol, Vice Chairman Ryu Younggil, council members, and 15 staff members from the administrative office held a joint tribute at the National Cemetery. Afterwards, they visited the gravesites of those from Hwasun who are buried there, paying solemn respects to the spirits of the victims.
Chairman Oh expressed his commitment to carrying on the spirit of democratization by writing in the guestbook, "Your sacrifice made today possible. We will continue your spirit by walking the path of truth and justice."
Meanwhile, Hwasun County Council continues its meaningful tradition of visiting the National 5·18 Democratic Cemetery every year to honor those who contributed to the democratization movement and to commemorate their spirit of sacrifice.
