Gyeongbuk Uiseong Jinssal, the leading rice brand of Uiseong County in North Gyeongsang Province, has been selected as one of the "2025 Gyeongbuk Six Outstanding Brand Rice."
With this achievement, Gyeongbuk Uiseong Jinssal has secured its place as a premium rice brand representing North Gyeongsang Province for four consecutive years since 2022.
The "Gyeongbuk Six Outstanding Brand Rice" is selected through a comprehensive evaluation by professional institutions, targeting single brands with annual sales of over 2 billion KRW within the province. The evaluation considers factors such as appearance, quality, and varietal mixing rate.
Gyeongbuk Uiseong Jinssal has established a stable production base through contract cultivation in major granary areas of the region, including Angye and Dain plains.
In particular, by adopting eco-friendly farming methods that utilize organic fertilizers, the brand leads the way in producing safe and healthy rice. It has also earned high consumer trust through uniformity of varieties and thorough hygiene and quality management.
Kim Jusu, the governor of Uiseong County, stated, "This award is the result of the farmers' sweat and effort, as well as systematic quality management."
