The district plans to focus on inspecting more than 100 food hygiene establishments for the following: whether expired food products are being sold or stored, the hygiene management of kitchens, and compliance with storage temperatures for refrigerated and frozen foods. By doing so, the district aims to eliminate hygiene vulnerabilities in advance and prevent food safety incidents such as food poisoning.
In addition, the district is running a promotional campaign for citizens visiting department stores and large supermarkets to raise awareness of Food Safety Day and to provide useful information for daily life, such as how to choose safe food products.
Park Chaeyoung, head of the Health and Hygiene Division, said, "We will inspect the hygiene standards of multi-use facilities so that residents can purchase food with confidence, and we will make every effort to prevent food safety incidents such as food poisoning, especially with summer approaching."
