The event featured not only splendid floral displays across 280,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor space, but also a variety of content including performances, hands-on experiences, and events.
The foundation concluded all official events on May 11 by holding the Goyang International Flower Awards at the Horticultural Industry Hall, signaling the end of the 2025 Goyang International Flower Expo.
The Goyang International Flower Awards serves to lead the development of the floriculture industry and to discover outstanding floral design professionals. The awards ceremony encompassed competitions such as the Preserved Flower Cup and the Korea Flower Arrangement Contest, as well as outdoor landscaping presentations, domestic and international exhibition booths, and a global floral artist exhibition. A total of 90 works received awards across nine categories, including the Presidential Award.
Community participation was also notable at this year's expo. The "Goyang Local Garden," created by more than 300 local flower farms, and the "Goyang Citizen Garden Show," designed by 10 citizen teams, drew significant attention. In particular, the themed garden "Colorful Tinyping Garden" for children and family visitors gained great popularity in May, the month of Family.
Even after the conclusion of the 2025 Goyang International Flower Expo, the foundation plans to maintain and manage the outdoor gardens?Goyang Local Garden, Traditional Garden, and Kitchen Garden?until the end of May, allowing visitors to Ilsan Lake Park to freely enjoy them.
During the expo, Goyang City and the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Madagascar signed a letter of intent to strengthen cooperation in the fields of plant resources and the environment. In addition, Goyang City entered into a memorandum of understanding with the city of Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, to exchange agricultural information and pledged mutual cooperation for agricultural development.
