Gyeonggi Province to Hold "Opportunity Meal Table" Program 16 Times for Single-Person Households
Gyeonggi Province will operate the "Opportunity Meal Table for Single-Person Households" program a total of 16 times across different regions starting in June.
The Opportunity Meal Table program is designed to improve the eating habits of single-person households and address social isolation. It consists of sessions where participants make simple meals with culinary experts and engage in conversations with communication specialists about emotions and relationships encountered in daily life.
According to the "2023 Family Status Survey" conducted by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, single-person households experience difficulties such as maintaining a balanced diet (44.9%) and feelings of loneliness (25.3%) in their daily lives. Gyeonggi Province explained that this program was prepared to address these issues and provide opportunities for communication.
To increase accessibility for single-person households, Gyeonggi Province will divide its 31 cities and counties into four regions and hold four sessions in each region, totaling 16 sessions.
