Lee Junseok Registers as Presidential Candidate: "We Must Stop Forces Threatening Martial Law and Separation of Powers"
Lee Junseok Personally Registers as Presidential Candidate at National Election Commission
"Creating an Opportunity for Korea's Leap Forward Is My Calling"
Lee Junseok, the presidential candidate of the Reform New Party, has completed his registration as a candidate for the 21st presidential election. Criticizing the two major parties, Lee stated, "I will create an opportunity for the Republic of Korea to leap forward."
On the morning of May 10, at the National Election Commission in Gwacheon, Lee personally completed his registration as a presidential candidate and told reporters, "I will surely repay the support of the people by achieving victory."
Lee said, "The meaning of this election is clear. We must stop two forces: those who once threatened the people with martial law, and those who, intoxicated by their own power, now seek to undermine the separation of powers. As a candidate, I believe it is my role and duty to uphold the spirit of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea and to create another opportunity for our country to advance."
Lee also reiterated his position on Facebook, stating, "If the forces that endangered the people with martial law, and those who, intoxicated by the resulting gains, are now undermining the separation of powers, regain power, the future of the Republic of Korea will be bleak."
