It is based on a declaration stating, "Let us strive to make Korea a country where children are happy, young people nurture hope, and the elderly find fulfillment." The campaign aims to raise social awareness and draw attention to the issues of population decline and aging.
Governor Nam Hankwon said, "The population issue is not just an individual problem but a challenge that the entire local community must address together." He added, "Through this campaign, I hope residents' awareness will become more mature and that a social atmosphere of working together to solve these issues will spread."
Governor Nam joined the campaign after being nominated by Kim Byungsoo, Mayor of Gimpo, a sister city, and Seo Dongwook, Head of Nam-gu District in Ulsan, a friendly exchange and cooperation city. For the next participants, he nominated Baek Kyunghyun, Mayor of Guri, a sister city, and Jeon Hyungpil, Director of the Busan Regional Office of Land and Infrastructure under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, a sister institution.
