Haenam County to Provide Up to 50 Million KRW for Local Creator Startups
Recruitment of Entrepreneurs and Complex Store Operators
Utilizing Local Resources
Haenam County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Myung Hyun-gwan) will actively foster local creators (regional value creators) who sell products or services utilizing local resources.
According to the county on May 9, Haenam is operating an Old Downtown Commercial District Revitalization Task Force dedicated to revitalizing the commercial area of the town center, and through this project, it is recruiting new entrepreneurs and participants for the complex store project until May 20.
After a document review and interview evaluation, the county will provide up to 50 million KRW to new entrepreneurs within the old downtown revitalization area and 5 million KRW to participants in the complex store project.
The document review will assess the applicant’s willingness to pursue the business, the locality, necessity, creativity, feasibility, and competitiveness of the business idea, and the appropriateness of the business plan. The interview evaluation will consider these same criteria, as well as the appropriateness of the requested funding amount, to determine the final amount of support.
The support covers material purchases of a capital nature, labor costs, and, excluding VAT that can be refunded after the fact, material costs, display stands, environmental improvement costs, packaging design and production costs, and promotional material production costs, with a maximum support limit set for each item. Applicants must cover 10% of the project cost as self-funding and are responsible for VAT on the total project cost.
In particular, to attract new residents, applicants who relocate to Haenam County from outside the area will receive an additional 3 to 5 points, and those who have completed the chocolate training conducted by the Commercial District Revitalization Task Force will receive an additional 5 points.
