R&D Investment Reaches Approximately 366 Trillion Won
The combined revenue of 5,412 companies listed on the Chinese stock market last year reached 71.98 trillion yuan (approximately 1,400 trillion won).
On May 9, China's state-run Xinhua News Agency, citing data from the China Association for Public Companies, reported that "the total net profit achieved last year by companies listed on the Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing stock exchanges amounted to 5.22 trillion yuan (about 1,017 trillion won)."
In addition, approximately three-quarters of these listed companies?4,036 firms?recorded a profit last year. Among the profitable companies, 2,194 saw an increase in net profit compared to the previous year. The number of listed companies with a net profit growth rate exceeding 100% was recorded at 553.
Last year, the total research and development (R&D) investment by listed companies amounted to 1.88 trillion yuan (about 366 trillion won), an increase of approximately 60 billion yuan from the previous year.

Furthermore, in the first quarter of this year, the combined net profit disclosed by 5,420 listed companies was 1.49 trillion yuan (about 290 trillion won), representing a 3.55% increase compared to the same period last year. The number of listed companies that recorded a profit in the first quarter was 4,084, indicating a continued trend of improved profitability.
