Previously, Seoul's Voice and civic groups filed a complaint against Chief Justice Cho on May 3, alleging that he handed down a Supreme Court ruling overturning the original verdict only nine days after the case was referred to the Grand Bench, without sufficiently reviewing the trial records of candidate Lee's violation of the Public Official Election Act. They accused him of abuse of power and obstruction of the exercise of rights.
