Youth Startup Academy Announces Start of Entrepreneurs' Challenge Toward Success
Ministry of SMEs and Startups Holds "2025 Youth Startup Academy Launch Ceremony"
Supporting young entrepreneurs with funding, education, and networking opportunities
Celebrating 15 years of fostering innovative CEOs and producing unicorn companies
On May 9, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced that it held the "2025 Youth Startup Academy Launch Ceremony" at the main campus of the Youth Startup Academy. The Youth Startup Academy (YSAA) systematically supports the entire startup process for young entrepreneurs, providing not only funding but also technical education, expert mentoring, and networking opportunities to foster innovative young CEOs.
The academy was first established in 2011 at the Ansan Training Center of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency. Since then, it has continued to expand and now operates 19 locations nationwide. Over the past 14 years, it has discovered and nurtured a total of 8,477 young entrepreneurs, producing five KOSDAQ-listed companies and two unicorn companies, among other achievements.
This year's launch ceremony, marking the 15th anniversary of the academy, was held under the theme "Start up! & Spring up!" to signify a new leap forward. The event featured the reading of a declaration by a representative of the incoming class, the awarding of pacemaker badges, and a launch performance.
A variety of side events were also prepared for the young entrepreneurs attending the ceremony. Consultation booths were set up to facilitate networking with professional accelerators and global companies, and a showroom was installed to promote the products of both current and graduated academy companies. In addition, a session was held where alumni entrepreneurs from the Youth Startup Academy shared their success stories.
