Emart Fresh Food to Be Sold on 11st... 'Grocery Service' Resumes
SSG.com to Join 11st's "Mart Plus" Grocery Section
Re-entering After Contract Expired in July 2023
SSG.com will open a store within 11st's grocery specialty section, "Mart Plus," later this month. As a result, customers will be able to purchase fresh food products from Emart Mall on SSG.com through 11st as well.
According to the retail industry on May 8, SSG.com previously operated SSG Delivery and dawn delivery grocery services on 11st from April 2020 to July 2023, but discontinued them after the contract expired.
With this re-entry, 11st is expected to strengthen its grocery service, while SSG.com will be able to expand its customer base.
An 11st representative explained, "This year, 11st plans to strengthen its grocery product lineup," adding, "By leveraging Emart Mall's strengths?its large number of loyal customers and wide product assortment?both companies can create synergy."
An SSG.com representative said, "We plan to introduce SSG.com's differentiated daytime and dawn delivery services, as well as high-quality grocery products, to 11st customers."

Industry insiders interpret this collaboration as an attempt to find a breakthrough in the e-commerce market, which is currently centered around Coupang. Previously, Naver formed a strategic partnership with Kurly to strengthen its fresh food offerings. Shinsegae Group and Alibaba Group also announced at the end of last year that they would establish a joint venture called "Grand Opus Holdings."
