Singer Nam Taehyun Booked for Drunk Driving During Probation for Drug Charges
Nam Taehyun (31), a singer and former member of the group WINNER, was investigated by police after being caught driving under the influence during his probation period for drug use charges.
On May 8, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul announced that Nam had been booked and is under investigation for driving under the influence of alcohol in violation of the Road Traffic Act on April 27.
Nam is accused of crashing into the central divider near Dongjak Bridge on the Gangbyeonbuk-ro toward Ilsan at around 4:10 a.m. on April 27 while attempting to overtake the vehicle in front of him. No injuries were reported at the time.
The police applied for an arrest warrant on May 2, but on May 7, the court dismissed the request during a pretrial detention hearing, citing insufficient grounds for arrest.
