All-out Efforts to Revitalize the Local Economy... Gwanak District Achieves "Outstanding" Rating in Ministry of the Interior and Safety Rapid Execution Evaluation
850 Billion Won Executed in Q1, Surpassing Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Target of 76 Billion Won with an Execution Rate of 111.9%
Recognized for Efforts to Revitalize the Local Economy by Spending 74.1 Billion Won in Consumption and Investment Sectors Closely Tied to Residents' Livelihoods
Gwanak District (District Mayor Park Junhee) has been recognized as an "Outstanding Institution" in the first quarter local fiscal rapid execution evaluation organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, as a result of focusing its administrative efforts on the recovery of the local economy.
The local fiscal rapid execution system, conducted for 243 local governments nationwide, aims to revitalize the local economy and enhance fiscal efficiency through prompt public sector spending.
In particular, this evaluation took into account the prolonged economic downturn and the deepening difficulties in the local economy caused by ongoing national turmoil. As such, a separate "first quarter target" was set, and actual rapid execution performance, as well as results in consumption and investment sectors, were comprehensively reflected.
By prioritizing the recovery of the local economy and focusing on systematic budget management, the district executed 85 billion won (execution rate approximately 111.9%), which is 9 billion won more than the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's first quarter rapid execution target of 76 billion won.
Notably, the district spent 74.1 billion won in the consumption and investment sectors closely related to the local economy, injecting vitality into the sluggish regional market.
This achievement was the result of actively utilizing rapid execution guidelines such as: emergency bidding, promoting advance payment execution, shortening contract review periods, and temporarily expanding private contracts, thereby increasing execution efficiency.
Additionally, the district has operated a "Rapid Execution Task Force" led by the Deputy District Mayor, focusing all efforts on strategically increasing the fiscal execution rate through: establishing close cooperation among budget, expenditure, and project departments; continuously monitoring large-scale investment projects; and holding rapid execution progress meetings.
With this selection as an outstanding institution, the district will receive a fiscal incentive of 40 million won. Having been selected as an outstanding institution for rapid execution a total of 12 times over the past 8 years, the district has secured approximately 859 million won in fiscal incentives, which have been reinvested in projects for local economic recovery, creating a virtuous cycle.
