Gokseong County Recruiting Trainees for Basic Farming Technology Program
Supporting the Settlement and Self-Reliance of Return-to-Farm and Return-to-Village Residents
Gokseong County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Cho Sangrae), announced on May 4 that it will be accepting applications for the 2025 Basic Farming Technology Training for new farmers until May 8, in order to support the stable settlement and self-reliance of return-to-farm and return-to-village residents.
This training aims to provide return-to-farm and return-to-village residents with practical basic farming techniques and the latest agricultural information that can be immediately applied in the field, focusing on nurturing talent to lead the future of agriculture.
The curriculum centers on essential crop-specific cultivation techniques that beginner farmers must know, and includes on-site visits to leading local farms, hands-on training with agricultural drones, experiences in the sixth industrialization of agriculture, and healing farms. The program is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of practical farm management and to offer content that can be immediately utilized after returning to farming.
The program will accept 30 participants, targeting those planning to return to farming, individuals who have returned within the past five years, and young farmers. A certificate of completion will be issued to those who attend at least 80% of the entire course.
Applications can be submitted until May 8 by visiting the Agricultural Technology Center’s Rural Support and Planning Team or the Industrial Teams at each town and township office. Further details are available on the Gokseong County Agricultural Technology Center website.
Since last month, the county has been offering a three-month settlement training program for return-to-farm residents, including woodworking, rice processing, and agricultural machinery safety training, to help them acquire various skills needed in the field.
A county official stated, "We will continue to expand practical training so that return-to-farm and return-to-village residents can successfully settle and become self-reliant in the region."
