Prosecutor Who Investigated Justice Minister Sungjae Park Over Martial Law Incident Tenders Resignation
The prosecutor who investigated Minister of Justice Sungjae Park in connection with the 12·3 Martial Law Incident recently tendered his resignation.

View original imageAccording to the legal community on May 2, Prosecutor Nam from the Daejeon District Prosecutors' Office posted his resignation letter on the internal prosecution network, Epros, on April 29.
In his letter, Prosecutor Nam stated, "I have received much guidance and help from my seniors, colleagues, and junior prosecutors," and added, "The work that involves decisions, judgments, and responsibility has been lonely and difficult, but I have managed to get through it thanks to colleagues who shared my concerns and empathized with me in similar situations."
He continued, "Although it is only right to personally bid farewell to each and every person I have worked with and learned from, I feel apologetic for not being able to do so and must instead say goodbye through this letter. Now, I intend to leave the office of prosecutor and set out on a new path in the wilderness. Wherever I am, I will always support the prosecution," he shared.

Prosecutor Nam was dispatched to the Martial Law Special Investigation Headquarters established by the prosecution after the 12·3 Martial Law Incident on December 3 last year, where he was in charge of the insurrection investigation. It is reported that he summoned Minister Park as a suspect and investigated matters such as the situation of the Cabinet meeting.
