The city council members held an emergency press conference on the morning of the same day regarding the Supreme Court's remand of candidate Lee Jae-myung, and criticized, "This is a judicial coup that thoroughly disregards the will and public opinion of the people, just about a month before the early presidential election triggered by the impeachment of Yoon Suk-yeol," and "It is a ruthless verdict that undermines the spirit of the democratic republic, which the sovereign people have defended with blood and tears."
They continued, "Coincidentally, after the Supreme Court ruling, Han Duck-soo, the second-in-command of the rebellion government, held a press conference to announce his resignation as Prime Minister for the presidential race, as if to make a point," and questioned, "What does this mean? The rebellion is not over; it is still ongoing."
They also emphasized, "This ruling will go down in history as the judiciary’s most shameful decision and a disgrace for the judges," and "While May 1 marks the death of judicial justice, the presidential election on June 3 will clearly demonstrate that the true owner and sovereign of the Republic of Korea is the people."
Meanwhile, the city council members declared, "The people will not simply stand by and watch the judiciary's interference in the presidential election," and "We will resist political oppression to the end. We will fight even more strongly to eradicate the forces of rebellion."
