Man in His 50s Arrested for Breaking Into Homes and Stealing Cash and Jewelry
A man in his 50s who broke into homes across Seoul and stole hundreds of millions of won in cash and jewelry has been apprehended by the police.

View original imageThe Seoul Gangnam Police Station announced on May 2 that they arrested Mr. A at around 9:45 p.m. on April 28 for repeatedly committing burglary.
Mr. A is accused of breaking into seven villas in three districts, including Gangnam-gu, Seoul, through windows between March 30 and April 22, and stealing cash and jewelry.
The total value of the cash and jewelry stolen by Mr. A from the victims' residences amounted to approximately 310 million won. Investigations revealed that most of the stolen money was squandered on entertainment and gambling expenses.
Mr. A evaded police pursuit by not using a mobile phone and frequently changing his clothes.

A police official stated, "The scale of the stolen items is significant, and among them are many objects with precious memories, such as first birthday rings for children and grandchildren and keepsakes from parents. We ask that you pay extra attention to security by locking doors and windows when leaving your home."
