Gangjin County Recruiting Real Estate Agents to Participate in "Empty House Bank" Transactions
Connecting Greendaero and Private Platforms
for Listing Empty Houses as Properties
Gangjin County in South Jeolla Province (Governor: Kang Jinwon) will be recruiting "local cooperative real estate agents" to participate in the Rural Empty House Transaction Activation Support Project from May 2 to 16.
According to the county on May 1, this project aims to activate transactions of rural empty houses by investigating information on empty houses available for sale and their surrounding conditions, listing them as properties, and then facilitating transactions through private real estate transaction platforms and other channels.
Currently, while local residents are increasingly interested in utilizing rural empty houses, they face difficulties in selling these properties due to a lack of real estate brokerage services and transaction information.
In response, the county plans to have "local cooperative real estate agents" participating in the Rural Empty House Bank handle the process of listing houses whose owners have agreed to transactions, and registering them on private real estate platforms as well as the "Greendaero" website for return-to-farming and return-to-village information.
To encourage participation from real estate agents familiar with local characteristics, the county will select agents who have their offices located in Gangjin County as of the announcement date and have completed transactions in the area within the past year.
Additionally, to obtain consent from empty house owners more efficiently, the county is preparing online methods such as text messages and web-based notifications, in addition to the existing postal notification method. Once the system is in place, the county will inform empty house owners about the Rural Empty House Bank.
The consent process for transactions will proceed according to the system's readiness, and the process of listing empty houses as properties will be carried out sequentially through the selected local cooperative real estate agents.
A county official stated, "Given the characteristics of rural areas, the active participation and role of real estate agents who are well acquainted with local circumstances are more important than anything else for revitalizing empty house transactions," and added, "We hope for the interest and participation of many local real estate agents."
