Gyeonggi-do Operates 29 Agricultural Machinery Rental Centers to Respond to Climate Change
Gyeonggi-do is renting out various types of agricultural machinery to farmers through 29 agricultural machinery rental service centers in 17 cities and counties within the province.
On May 1, Gyeonggi-do stated that, in order to respond swiftly to abnormal weather conditions, farmers need to have access to a variety of agricultural machines. However, new farmers and small-scale farms face difficulties in stably securing the necessary equipment due to financial burdens. Therefore, the province is identifying the needs of local farmers through its 29 rental centers and providing the required machinery for rent.
This year, Gyeonggi-do has purchased 53 portable hot air blast fans to help prevent fruit crop damage or frost caused by unseasonably low temperatures, supporting fruit farmers so they can continue production stably.

Last year, two new rental service centers exclusively for new farmers were established in Anseong and Yeoncheon, allowing new farmers to have priority access to agricultural machinery. This enables new farmers to use equipment first during peak seasons when reservations are concentrated, thereby providing a stable foundation for them to start farming and settle successfully.
