Posco E&C and Daewoo E&C have been selected as the contractors for the 'Gwangju Champions City' complex development project on the site of the former Jeonbang and Ilsin Textile factories in Imdong, Buk-gu, Gwangju.

View original imageHumans Holdings No.1 PFV (Humans PFV), the project developer, announced on April 30 that it had selected the two construction companies as preferred negotiation partners. Among the four companies that submitted letters of intent?Hyundai Engineering, Daewoo E&C, GS E&C, and Posco E&C?Posco E&C and Daewoo E&C were notified as preferred bidders on April 28 after an internal review.
Gwangju Champions City is a large-scale mixed-use development project that will create a residential and commercial complex with 4,315 units on a site of approximately 290,000 square meters, integrating residential, office, and commercial facilities. The site will also include 'The Hyundai Gwangju,' a complex shopping mall by Hyundai Department Store Group.
Humans PFV plans to apply for a housing construction project plan as early as the first half of the year, with construction scheduled to begin in October 2025 and completion targeted for 2029. This project is the largest private development in downtown Gwangju and is expected to significantly impact the restructuring of the local commercial district and changes in residential demand.
