Chief Chae Sujun of the Mokpo Coast Guard Station visited the Yeonggwang and Jido substations on April 29 to inspect vulnerable areas and review various operational statuses, while also listening to opinions from staff members.
According to the Mokpo Coast Guard on April 30, this on-site inspection was conducted to proactively prevent maritime accidents by checking the readiness of on-site responses for maritime safety management ahead of the peak tourist season.

View original imageChief Chae first visited the Yeonggwang substation to inspect the management of mission equipment, the emergency departure readiness of the coastal rescue boat, and the staff’s familiarity with local geographical features. He also took time to communicate with staff and listen to their difficulties.
He then moved to the Jido substation, where he emphasized the need to strengthen patrols and improve on-site response capabilities in coastal waters with a high risk of accidents during the tourist season. In addition to urging the prevention of safety accidents, he also encouraged the on-site officers for their hard work.
Chief Chae stated, "We will strengthen a field-oriented safety management system so that the public can use the sea with peace of mind," and added, "Furthermore, I hope you will proactively analyze and address security issues within your jurisdiction at the field level."
