The agenda included sharing the status of fishing vessel accidents over the past five years (2020?2024) and major accident cases expected in 2025, as well as discussing accident prevention measures and cooperation matters for each organization.
In particular, participants agreed on the fact that not wearing life jackets during fishing vessel accidents leads to significant casualties, and discussed educational and promotional measures to encourage life jacket use among fishermen.
A representative from the Seohae Regional Coast Guard stated, "During the foggy season and spring holiday period, the risk of maritime accidents increases and can lead to large-scale incidents, so those working in the fishing industry must exercise special caution. We will do our utmost to prevent accidents by reflecting the opinions of related organizations and experts and strengthening cooperation."
