Marking its second year, the Citizen Home Repair School was operated for eight weeks starting from March 11, based on the positive response from citizens to last year's program. Participants acquired practical skills through integrated theoretical and hands-on training, enabling them to solve everyday housing issues such as tool usage, electrical wiring inspection, bathroom repair, and window and door replacement.
A satisfaction survey conducted alongside the graduation ceremony revealed continued positive evaluations of the program. Many participants expressed their desire for the establishment of advanced courses and shared their intention to participate in community volunteer activities using the skills they had learned.
Kim Seungnam, President of Gwangju Urban Corporation, stated, "The Citizen Home Repair School is not only about learning the skills to repair one's own home, but also serves as a training course for volunteers who share their talents with the local community." He added, "We will continue to expand social contribution activities for the housing-vulnerable in partnership with citizens."
