Trump Says Trade Talks with India Going Well... Expects Agreement
On April 29 (local time), U.S. President Donald Trump stated that trade negotiations with India are "going well."
According to U.S. economic media outlet CNBC, President Trump, while leaving the White House and speaking with reporters, said, "I think we will reach an agreement with India. They want to make a deal," expressing this view.
When asked whether he was in talks with the Australian leader regarding trade issues, President Trump replied, "They are reaching out, and I will speak with him."
He also stated that there are no new developments in negotiations with Canada.
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick also commented on reciprocal tariff negotiations with other countries, saying, "A deal has been reached with one country, but we are waiting for approval from the country's prime minister and parliament." Secretary Lutnick made this statement during an appearance on CNBC but did not disclose the name of the country.
