He reviewed the progress of each project with the project managers and exchanged opinions.
The Jinjeop Geumgokcheon Disconnected Trail Connection Project aims to connect the broken section between Wangsukcheon and Geumgokcheon within the Jinjeop residential district, creating a 530-meter-long and 3.3-meter-wide trail and stepping stones.
The project is currently 95% complete and nearing completion. Once the section is connected, access from the Jinjeop residential district to Wangsukcheon will become easier, and convenience for facilities such as the scenic plaza and bicycle path will be improved. In addition, pedestrian access from Janghyeon-ri to Jinjeop Station is also expected to be greatly enhanced.
The Onam Urban Road Construction Project, which was the next site visited, is a large-scale transportation infrastructure improvement project that expands the section from the entrance of Eoram Elementary School to the entrance of Seongdo Apartment, covering a total length of 1.67 kilometers and a width of 25 meters.
This project, which aims to resolve chronic congestion sections within Onam-eup, is scheduled for completion in June. Currently, the expansion of a 1-kilometer section to four lanes has been completed, and transportation inconveniences for citizens are gradually being alleviated.
Mayor Joo Gwangdeok stated, "Improving infrastructure to provide practical benefits to citizens' daily lives is the top priority," and added, "We will continue to create a better urban environment through citizen-centered policies."
