Goryeong County Launches Card-Type Pet Registration Certificate Service
Leading the Way in Strengthening Pet Welfare
Goryeong County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Lee Namcheol) will officially launch a service to issue 'card-type pet registration certificates' to residents who have registered their pets.
The pet registration system was implemented to establish a culture of responsible pet ownership and to prevent the loss and abandonment of animals. Under this system, owners are required to register any eligible pet dog kept for companionship that is at least two months old.
The card-type pet registration certificate contains information such as the owner's details, pet registration number, breed, and date of birth, allowing for quick verification. It is easy to carry in a wallet and can be used when visiting veterinary clinics or pet-related facilities, which is expected to increase satisfaction among pet owners.
