Yeongju City Holds Full Meeting of Policy Advisory Committee
Seeking Solutions for Yeongju's Future Regional Development
On April 28, Yeongju City held the 2025 Yeongju City Policy Advisory Committee full meeting in the city hall auditorium to discuss local issues and establish development strategies.
The meeting was attended by more than 20 people, including Policy Advisory Committee members, the vice mayor, and relevant officials. The session began with a report on the committee's current status, followed by discussions on the annual operation plan and major local issues.
In particular, the participants visited the proposed site for the Regional Vitality Town project, listened to a briefing on the project, and exchanged opinions on setting the city's future policy direction and solutions to current issues during an on-site discussion.
The Yeongju City Policy Advisory Committee consists of 36 members, including local residents, Yeongju natives active across the country, and experts from various fields.
In 2024, the committee organized a forum under the theme "Revitalization Measures for the Old Downtown" to share diverse opinions on addressing commercial district stagnation. The committee has also actively fulfilled its role as private sector experts by publishing the "Regional Development Strategy Research" book and other initiatives.
Min Byungcheol, chairperson of the Policy Advisory Committee, stated, "The 5th Policy Advisory Committee was launched in September 2023 and is now in its third and final year. Over the years, experts from various fields have worked together to consider the overall policy direction of city administration. I hope that, with a sense of duty, we can continue to achieve even more results together during the remaining period."
Lee Jaehun, acting mayor of Yeongju City, said, "I would like to thank all the committee members for attending despite your busy schedules. I ask for your in-depth advice and counsel so that your expertise and experience can be actively reflected in city administration this year as well."
