Muan County Holds Progress Meeting on Proposals for National and Provincial Funding Projects for Next Year

Muan County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Kim San) announced on April 22 that it held a progress meeting on proposals for projects seeking national and provincial funding for 2026, presided over by Governor Kim San.
During this meeting, the county focused on reviewing response strategies and progress for a total of 80 proposed projects worth 846.3 billion KRW. These projects include new initiatives, competitive and regionally specialized projects linked to government policy directions, key current issues, and future growth industries.

View original imageMajor newly identified projects include: the Muan County Integrated Biogas Facility Installation Project (45.9 billion KRW); the Local Commercial District Revitalization Project (10 billion KRW); the Smart Agriculture Development Zone Project (20 billion KRW); the Naman Child-Friendly National Sports Center Construction Project (8.2 billion KRW); and the Topmeori Natural Disaster Risk Improvement Zone Maintenance Project (22.1 billion KRW), among others.
The county plans to actively address any shortcomings discussed during the meeting by visiting central government agencies and the National Assembly to explain the necessity and urgency of these projects. It will also make every effort to improve the budget execution rate to ensure stable funding for ongoing projects.
Governor Kim San emphasized, "In line with the recently announced 2026 budget formulation guidelines, it is necessary to make even greater efforts to identify projects that align with policy directions such as stabilizing people's livelihoods, supporting AI and advanced industries, and overcoming regional extinction."
He further requested, "To ensure stable project implementation, please take a proactive approach, respond ahead of time, and make every effort in activities to secure national and provincial funding."
