Shinhan Financial Group Launches Employee Energy-Saving Campaign for Earth Day
"Sincere to the Earth WEEK" Launched
250 Million Won Raised for Wildfire Relief
On April 21, Shinhan Financial Group announced that it will launch the "Sincere to the Earth WEEK" campaign on April 22, Earth Day, encouraging all employees to participate in energy-saving efforts.
This week-long campaign, starting on April 21, includes several initiatives: "Save DAY" (April 21), during which all employees are encouraged to use public transportation and save electricity and paper; "Turn Off DAY" (April 22), when the main buildings of group companies will be temporarily powered down; and "Resource Circulation DAY" (April 23-25), which involves collecting unused electronic devices from homes and offices for recycling.
In addition, Shinhan Financial Group has designated the fifth campaign of its social contribution initiative, the "Leading by Example Relay," as "Wildfire Damage Recovery and Support for Firefighting Heroes," raising 250 million won in donations. The group also plans to participate in volunteer activities to help restore damaged forests.
A Shinhan Financial Group representative stated, "We organized this campaign to remind all employees that small actions in daily life to protect the Earth are the first step in responding to the climate crisis," and added, "All employees will continue to work together to build a sustainable society."
