Creation of 'Caravan and Other Stay-Type Accommodation Facilities' in Baekmi-ri, Hwaseong
By 2026, stay-type accommodation facilities such as caravans will be established in Baekmiri fishing village, Seosin-myeon, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Gyeonggi-do announced on the 11th that Baekmiri village was finally selected for the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' '2025 Fishing Village Experience and Recreation Village Advancement Project' and will carry out a national project worth a total of 800 million KRW.
The Fishing Village Experience and Recreation Village Advancement Project aims to create and improve the operational foundation such as communal lodging facilities and specialized facilities in fishing villages to enhance the convenience and satisfaction of visitors. This year, 18 villages nationwide applied for the contest, and four villages including Baekmiri were finally selected.
By 2026, Baekmiri village will establish caravan accommodation facilities including infrastructure such as electricity, telecommunications, and septic tanks. These facilities will apply the communal brand of fishing village experience and recreation villages, 'Staybada70,' providing hygienic and standardized services.
With the introduction of caravans, the existing fishing village experiences, slow food experiences, and cafes, as well as the pet playground and Seohaerang-gil trail to be developed in the future, will be linked to transform the area into a stay-type complex fishing village tourism site where various tourists can stay.
In addition, a portion of the income generated from lodging in the fishing village experience and recreation village will be accumulated as village funds. Currently, a pension of 300,000 KRW per year is paid to residents. Furthermore, new job creation is expected through caravan operation and experience-linked programs.
Along with this fishing village experience and recreation village advancement project, Gyeonggi-do held a meeting on the 9th at Janghyeon Fishing Village Experience and Recreation Village in Ansan to share operational achievements and difficulties by village and discuss ways to revitalize fishing village tourism.
