Jangseong-gun Finalizes Preparations for Jeonnam Sports Festival and Paralympic Games
Opening on the 18th and 30th, Respectively
Local Culture and Performance Events Also Planned
Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do held a final briefing session and began last-minute preparations ahead of the 64th Jeonnam Sports Festival and the 33rd Jeonnam Para Sports Festival, which will open on the 18th and 30th, respectively.
On the 9th, the county announced that it had checked the responsibilities and preparation status of each department and discussed countermeasures for any shortcomings. The county plans to energize the entire region by organizing this event around eight core keywords: 'Harmony', 'Hope', 'Safety', 'Happiness', 'Vitality', 'Economy', 'Culture', and 'Tourism'.
The opening ceremony of the Jeonnam Sports Festival, to be held on the 18th, will feature performances by singers Kim Yeonja, Lyn, Son Hoyoung, Kim Taewoo, and Kim Taeyeon. On the 19th, the 'Seongjangseong Rock Festival' will take place, featuring rock band YB, indie band KARDI, local youth musical club 'Harang', and Jangseong High School band 'Eagle Eagle'.
In addition to managing the event, the county is also aiming to boost the local economy and connect with cultural tourism. County Governor Kim Hanjong said, "Residents and public officials are preparing with one heart," adding, "We will do our best to ensure a successful sports festival."
