Wanju County Holds Outdoor Healing Program at Changpo Village
For High-Risk Groups and Residents Aged 60 and Over
Wanju County, North Jeolla Province announced on the 9th that it held an outdoor healing program called 'Brain UP, Healing DAY' at Wanju Changpo Village.
This program, which was attended by about 40 high-risk individuals registered at the Dementia Safety Center and residents aged 60 and over, featured a variety of healing activities such as making natural Changpo shampoo, dyeing handkerchiefs with natural Somok, rice cake pounding experience, and laughter therapy exercises, receiving a great response.
In addition, participants enjoyed a walk along the Hwangto Trail at Wanju Traditional Culture Park, which helped relieve stress and promote physical and mental relaxation. On this day, Wanju County Governor Yoo Heetae also attended the event to encourage and support the participants.
One elderly participant said, "There are not many opportunities for outdoor activities, so I am grateful for this wonderful chance," and added, "It was a happy day that healed both my body and mind."
Lee Jaeyeon, head of the public health center, said, "I hope that various outdoor experiences will help improve cognitive and physical abilities," and added, "We will continue to actively implement programs utilizing healing resources to help prevent dementia among the elderly."
