Siheung City Supports Language and Certification Exam Fees for Unemployed Youth
Support Expanded from Age 34 to 39, 108 More Exams Added
Up to 300,000 KRW Available... Applications Open from the 2nd of Next Month
Siheung City in Gyeonggi Province will implement the 'Language and Qualification Exam Fee Support Project' starting from the 2nd of next month to help unemployed youth in the area develop their skills.
The support targets unemployed youth aged 19 to 39 who are registered residents of Siheung City as of the application date. Until last year, support was only available up to age 34, but this year it has been extended to 39.
Short-term workers who have been employed for less than one year can also receive support. However, those participating in similar programs by the central government or other institutions, such as the 'National Employment Support System' or the 'National Tomorrow Learning Card,' are excluded from eligibility. For the 'Youth National Technical Qualification Exam Fee,' support is available only for the applicant's out-of-pocket expenses.
The supported exams include 19 types of language tests, 1 Korean history exam, 539 national technical qualifications, 98 nationally certified private qualifications, and 360 national professional qualifications, totaling 1,017 types. This is an increase of 108 types compared to last year.
There is no limit on previous year support status, number of times supported, or amount per session, with a maximum support of up to 300,000 KRW per person. The application period is from the 2nd of next month to November 30th. Applications can be made for exams taken since December 1st of last year.
Applicants wishing to receive support can submit the application form, resident registration abstract, health insurance qualification certificate, exam confirmation, and other required documents through the Gyeonggi Job Foundation's integrated application system 'Jobaba Apply.'
