Pukyong National University organized this event to share Busan's global hub city strategy and youth policies with its members, including students, and to motivate local youth to play active roles on the global stage.
On this day, Mayor Park Hyungjoon stated, "Due to the intensification of the concentration in the capital region, our country is facing growing difficulties in solving issues such as low birth rates, low growth, and widening gaps. To address these, we must pursue balanced innovation-driven development by creating multiple innovation hubs."
Mayor Park Hyungjoon also said, "Busan, the world's second-largest transshipment port, is building innovative infrastructure such as a new airport and metropolitan transportation networks. With its strengths and potential in new industries like finance, digital, and AI, as well as regional universities nurturing innovative talent, Busan can become the innovation hub of the southern region as a global hub city."
He added, "We will make Busan a livable city and a global hub city through a virtuous cycle in which local companies hire talent fostered by local universities and the local community provides support. I hope Pukyong National University students will become the new engine that opens Busan's future."
