Yeongju City Wins Excellence Award in This Year's Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation
Achievements in Discovering Tax Sources and Clearing Delinquencies
Citizen-Centered Policies Also Highly Praised
Yeongju City in North Gyeongsang Province has been awarded the 'Excellence Award' in the '2025 Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation' (based on 2024 performance) conducted by North Gyeongsang Province.
This evaluation was carried out for 22 cities and counties within the province, assessing the overall local tax administration performance for 2024. The evaluation indicators consisted of 24 items in 5 categories, including △settlement of local tax arrears △management of non-tax revenues △local tax relief △bonus and penalty points, and others.
Yeongju City was highly praised for significantly improving its local tax collection performance by actively managing tax sources through planned investigations into tax evasion, operating a responsible collection system for high-value delinquents, and carrying out tailored collection activities for each delinquent taxpayer.
The city also received positive evaluations for actively implementing citizen-oriented special measures, such as comprehensive clean-up of closed business licenses, sending out post-management notices for local tax reductions, and introducing a pre-registration system for local tax refunds.
