According to the police, Chairman Ryu is suspected of having ordered his family and acquaintances in September 2023 to file complaints requesting the Korea Communications Standards Commission (KCSC) to review reports citing NewsTapa's 'Kim Man-bae - Shin Hak-rim false interview.'
The police called Chairman Ryu in for a confidential investigation last January, but after a KCSC official who appeared at a recent National Assembly Science, Technology, Information and Broadcasting Committee inquiry last month reversed previous statements, it was deemed necessary to conduct an additional investigation into Chairman Ryu.
