15 Startups to Be Selected... Applications Open Until May 9
SK Telecom announced on the 9th that it will open a call for startups to participate in the 'AI Startup Accelerator' program aimed at discovering and fostering growth in the artificial intelligence (AI) sector.
The AI Startup Accelerator is a program designed to accelerate the growth of promising startups in the AI field. The call for applications runs from April 8 to May 9, selecting a total of 15 startups.
SKT will provide selected startups in the AI Startup Accelerator with tailored programs and benefits over six months. Key support includes ▲ specialized mentoring and seminars for AI startups ▲ opportunities for business collaboration with SK Telecom ▲ mentoring and investment review by major domestic venture capitalists ▲ participation in demo days and external IR events.
Since 2023, SKT has been focusing on discovering and nurturing 30 AI startups over two years. Among the 15 teams selected last year, 10 teams are currently engaged in a total of 16 collaborative projects with SKT.
Meanwhile, at the recent shareholders' meeting, SKT unveiled its new ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) vision, 'DO THE GOOD AI.' The vision aims to contribute to AI business growth and pursue sustainable development based on the synergy between AI and ESG.
Um Jong-hwan, Head of SKT’s ESG Promotion Office, stated, "Through this AI Startup Accelerator program, we aim to actively discover capable AI startups and create opportunities to grow together. Going forward, SKT will continue to practice the ESG vision 'DO THE GOOD AI' and strive to expand the AI ecosystem."
