Hwang Kyo-an Declares Presidential Candidacy... "We Must Fight Against Election Fraud"
"Running as an Independent After Leaving the People Power Party"
Former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn announced on the 8th that he will run as an independent candidate in the 21st presidential election.
On the same day, Hwang stated through social media (SNS), "Tomorrow (the 9th), I will leave the People Power Party and declare my candidacy for the presidential election." The kickoff event is scheduled to be held at 11 a.m. on the 9th at his campaign office in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Hwang said, "South Korea is currently in a system war," and argued, "To protect a free Korea, we must eradicate election fraud."
He continued, "President Yoon Seok-yeol, who started this fight, was rather impeached," and added, "I have decided to run in this presidential election to fully complete the eradication of election fraud and anti-state forces, which were ultimately left unfinished due to being hindered by the massive election fraud forces."
As the reason for leaving the People Power Party, he explained, "Because it is impossible to fight and win against election fraud within the People Power Party."
