Additional Case of Avian Influenza Detected at Laying Hen Farm in Pungse-myeon, Cheonan
2 Out of 25 Farms Still Operating...
Intensive Quarantine Measures in Place
An additional case of avian influenza (AI) has been reported at a layer chicken farm in Pungse-myeon, Cheonan-si, Chungnam.
According to the city on the 8th, the H5 antigen was detected in a post-culling inspection at a farm in Boseong-ri, Pungse-myeon, the previous day.
This farm is located 500 meters from the 37th avian influenza outbreak site.
A city official stated, "The culling has already been completed. Currently, only 2 out of 25 poultry farms in Pungse-myeon are still operating," and added, "We are intensively disinfecting the main access roads and farm roads of the affected farm."
The official also said, "We are strengthening inspection and monitoring activities. The test to determine whether the detected antigen is highly pathogenic is currently underway."
